The Gardener’s Boat at Sunset – Delft ceramic plaque

Large plaque scene hand painted in underglaze cobalt blue made after the work of Fredericus Jacobus van Rossum du Chattel.

De Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles established in 1653, is the only remaining Delft blue pottery factory from the 17th century. Porceleyne Delft large panel was painted after a 19th century painting “Gardeners boat at sunset” of Fredericus Jacobus van Rossum du Chattel, (1856-1917). He was a Dutch impressionist painter who lived in The Hague and known for the many landscapes paintings. Many of them were inspiration for copyist painting tiles and plaques at the Porceleyne Fles. At the back side there is unidentified painter’s mark of Delft.
